“Many people would have folded under the circumstances that you’ve found yourself in—but you didn’t.”
We are in between seasons, but I didn’t want to leave you with nothing, so I’m here with another pep talk you didn’t know you needed.
If you want to know what it’s like to be inspired by yourself, tune in for this one!
I need you to give yourself more credit.
And you’re thinking, give myself credit for what? I failed. I don’t keep promises to myself. I’m not where I wanna be. I thought I’d be further along by now. And I hear all that, I get all that, I’ve been there. But I really need you to give yourself credit for where you are based on what you’ve overcome, what you’ve outlasted, and what you’ve survived. I don’t know the details of your life. I don’t know the circumstances of your story. What I do know is you’re here. And there are many people, many, many, many people who would have folded under the circumstances that you’ve found yourself in, but you didn’t.
You’ve crawled, you’ve screamed.
You’ve cried, you’ve kicked, but you’ve also gotten back up every day and tried again.
You gave your best try. It may not seem like your best because you’re looking at what you haven’t done, but when you think about what you have done and when you start to cast yourself as a survivor, and not just a victim, as an overcomer and not just a failure, you’ll see yourself for who you are—and be excited to give yourself credit.
You may not be where you want to be, but you’re not where you could be. You may not be who you want to be, but who you are right now is still worthy. And just for breathing, just for getting up out of bed, and just for going to work, or not… Whatever it is you’re doing, you have not completely given up. And for that, beloved, you deserve credit.
Give yourself some credit today. That’s all I ask.
Until next time, I hope this helps.
Give yourself credit for where you are.
You’ve overcome, you’ve outlasted, and you’ve survived.
You’re here. And many people would have folded under the circumstances that you’ve been in.
You didn’t give up.
You’ve crawled, screamed, cried, and kicked, but you’ve also gotten back up every day.
You gave your best try.
You are a survivor, not just a victim—an overcomer, not just a failure.
You may not be where you want to be, but you’re not where you could be.
Who you are right now is still worthy.
